6 Months....ALREADY!

I am still amazed at how quickly time is passing by! I hit the 24 week mark this week. It was hard enough to believe when I approached the 20 week mark, heck now I am on the downward slop! I have been continuing to feel good, no major complaints up until this point. I did have some back pain last week but after taking it a little easier this weekend I am doing much better. This week is always a cool week for me. We start the summer with Memorial Day and celebrate NK's Birthday! This year will be a lot more low key than last year for his 3oth but I am sure we will still do something special. I will try to post more pictures of the house soon, we are making amazing progress.
BTW_ I am actually in the nursery! Freshly painted this weekend. The color is called "Green Tea", Nick is so great with color!

Finally Getting Settled

So enough going backward, I think everyone should be caught up at this point or at least enough to follow the story. We finally closed on our new house last week, April 29, 2009. That's right after almost 4 months we finally closed on the house. Last weekend was moving weekend. We had a few dedicated family members do a whole lot of work. Much thanks goes to my MIL Pat, Aunt Brenda, and my "little" John. They dilligently worked under the the iron fist of Nick to get most of our townhouse moved on Saturday. My MIL was a real trooper, she traveled from Florida to slave away working on our house. She scrubbed, cleaned, packed, unpacked, and painted. Did I mention she was only here for four days? So we are now in our new house on Conway and searching for a renter for the townhouse on Lestric. The dogs love the new place. Nick and I are tickled to be there as well. We keep looking at each other and saying..."is this for real?". We still have work to do but it is quickly becoming home for us.

April 17, 2009 It's a ....

OK so pretty much everyone who knows us knows that Nick and I had planned to wait until the birth of the baby to find out if it was a boy or girl. It was be such a neat surprise and neither of us was much into blue or pink for the nursery so it was a great plan. Well, as the date of the ultrasound came closer my curiosity was becoming too much. Still we had agreed and I was intent to respect Nick's decision, though I had been having strong feelings for the past few weeks. So we went into the ultrasound sound, the technician asks if we want her to tell us if she can tell to which Nick replies, "No". I say nothing. We get through the whole ultrasound and everything looked great. On the way out of the office the tech walks Nick out to the waiting room and me back to the restroom. At that point, she says " You did so good not ask" to which I replied "It's a boy, isn't it? " She says "yes". I WAS RIGHT! We are having a baby boy. The Kiernan name continues on for another generation.

Starting to show...

On March 28,2009 I participated in the Monument 10K in Richmond, VA. It was a mini reunion with my MBC girls. At this point I was 15 weeks, 3 days. I was happy that I was able to run the whole thing. So much fun but so sore later!

At twelve weeks, I was so proud to still be in my jeans. Of course they weren't quite as comfortable and this was first thing in the morning but who's checkin' all those facts!

How we found out...

January 7, 2009
Based on the advice of my ob/gyn staff, I waited until a week after my expected period before really testing. Nick came to wake me up for work and I decided that I could no longer wait. So I took the test, left the room, and waited two minutes. When I came back into the bathroom, I glanced down the see a light line showing I was pregnant. To skpetical to believe it, I walked it in the room to get Nick to confirm. It was true...we were having a baby!

Catching Up...

Nick and I decided to take a more laid back approach to pregnancy. We didn't want to be overly restricted to calendars, tests, or schedules. Once I was off birth control we just decided to see what happened. As we were approaching the end of December, I was fully expecting not to be pregnant. I became a little suspicious when New Year's Eve came and went with no sign of my "cycle". That weekend I happened to be searching the web for house and Minnieville Manor within our price range and to our suprise we found one! So Sunday we looked at the house on Conway Drive and decided to write a contract the following day. Much to our surprise the contract was accepted. So now we were buying a new house and there was the still the real possiblity of a little one on the way.

Baby Kiernan

I can not believe it I am at the 21 week mark this week. Time has certainly flown by. I would have loved to start this earlier in my pregnancy but with trying to buy a second house, working full time, getting the townhouse ready for renting, and taking a class there was just no time. Well I guess better late than never! Now they were in the new house I fell more settled to take the time to start this! Forgive me but I may have to take some time to back track in the first few blogs to catch everyone up.
